UPLAND TRAINING
If you are an avid upland game hunter, you have come to the right place! Here at Quichapa Kennels, we love to hunt Chukar, Pheasants and Doves. Through solid obedience work and live hunting scenarios, we are confident that we can help your hunting buddy reach its full potential. We are happy to tailor each training to the specific style of hunting you will be doing.
Because so many upland bird dog breeds exist, training will be tailored to your specific breed of dog. This training package focuses on live hunting scenarios with live birds. This ensures that your hunting companion will be well prepared for the coming hunting season.
The thrill of having your favorite dog point, flush, and retrieve a downed game bird to your hand is an experience that every bird hunter should have!

The Quichapa Kennels upland bird dog training package includes the following:
-Obedience E-collar conditioning
-Gun introduction
-Whoa training
-Scent recognition
-Force fetch retrieve (hand delivery)
-Live bird training scenarios
-Owner training
Details
Training Period: 2-3 Months
Upland Bird-Dog Training Cost:
1 month obedience: $800
1 month force fetch: $800
1 month live bird training: $900 + birds
Total: $2,500 + birds
*Live birds vary in price so the amount of birds shot will vary according to species. Owners will decide the species of birds used for training.
*Additional birds can be bought and is highly recommended for further repetition training and more live experience.
*Dog will be boarded at Quichapa Kennels for the entirety of the training
*Bird prices may vary depending on availability.
*Food provided by owner, or can be provided by kennel for an additional $50
*E-collar not included in training price. Owner will need to purchase their own e-collar after the training.
As avid outdoorsman here at Quichapa Kennels, we also offer special gun-dog packages. These packages include Upland bird dog training, Waterfowl training, and Shed (Antler) dog training. Each training package is one month long to ensure your hunting partner gets the repetition they need to provide success in the field.
We require that all hunting dogs go through the one-month obedience program prior to their hunting training. This allows the dog to have a solid foundation before they begin bird or shed dog training.
